A remarkable and first of its kind, Ethiopian American Craft beer has been introduced last week to the American market here in the West Coast part of the United States. The beer is named “St. John” depicting the Ethiopian new year aka “Enqutatash.”
The St John Beer Produce was founded by a young and vibrant innovator, Alemayehu (aka Alex) Zenebe who recently came with the idea that America needs Ethiopian flavor in all parts of life. “It all started when I discovered the need for a beer that reflects a unique taste to blend with the already existing American hard cores such as Sam Adam. “Alex says. As Ethiopian-Americans restaurants kept on growing across America,” continued Alex to say, “the need for a beer that reflects ‘a unique taste’ has been on upsurge creating a remarkable gap between high demand for a supply of smooth and flavored beers and hard and mass produced industrial classical beers. The Saint is discovered to feel this gap. The world is dynamic and changes are everywhere as time passes. We serve the needs of the new generation that is demanding change in the test of beer.” Alex stresses.
Local American beer drinkers also like the Saint according to Solomon Tamiru, a restaurant owner at Oakland. Customers who tasted St John beer increased their consumption and the Saint currently leads the number of sales in our restaurant beating the dominant Heineken and the Mexico produce, Corona.
“My son has been working his hands to the bones after perceiving the idea of changing the taste of beer and I am pleased the first batch is out in the market. I appeal to all Ethiopians and Americans drink the Saint and make my son rich. The Saint is out there to please. There is no need of importing beer for the Ethiopians in the Diaspora to drink.” His father Mr, Zenebe Tamirat said. "I witnessed his insistence and bravery while confronting hardship when he founded the "Ethiopian Basket Ball Federation in North America (EBFNA), while he was yet a college student. Today with MBA from a renown University, he has come with a credible innovation. He needs Ethiopian consumers buy the product.
